Gemini CDJ 700?

Anyone used a pair of these? I mean for a hundred bucks more you can get one of these instead of a denon SC2000 I mean it has slip mode. Use a pair of DVS time code cd.

DJworx has a decent review up, their only niggles were that they were a little stiffer on the jog than a Pio, touchscreeen was a bit gimmicky and isn't really needed as it just doubles most functions.

That it was lacking a headphone output (errr say what ?) and the effects, unsuprisingly sucked are non-issues if you ask me when compared to the $1200+ per deck competition who do not have them either.

For the price, and for home usage I don't believe you could go wrong, however if you were planning on bringing them on the road I'd look elsewhere. Gemini build is not know for roadworthyness, but studio/home I've never seen any real issues.

...or they have no marketing team, which in turn keeps the costs of the price per unit down.

If gemini had marketing like pioneer.. and sponsored and endorsed a bazzilion big name dj's - the price of their gear would be much higher. Im not saying this is the whole reason pioneer's gear is expensive, but it sure as hell is part of it.

you dont become the industry standard without splashing a bucketload of cash on maketing and sponsorship!

Trust me, theyr cd players are quite relliabe. Anyway, I would use it as a usb player. Seams just perfect for that, like American Audio Radius 1000, 3000

I messed around with a pair in the Brooklyn guitar center. Much better impression than the older gemini stuff. i'd feel pretty confident using them regularly.

The gemini CD players were always pretty decent, button action pretty much sucked donkey balls on their early rack units but their Pioneer 500 clones back in the early naughties were more reliable than a CDJ500.

I see a pair of cdj800mkII and a pair of these when they come out in april.

All I need is to decide on a 4 channel mixer and I'm set. Haha.

if they're under a grand for the pair and build quality/playability is good.. then i'll definitely buy a set after they're released.

i could care less about brand names on stuff any more. if the quality of a product is good (and comes with a decent warranty) who gives sh*t?

Wow!!! these look sweet!!!
As any other gemini product, it's a pioneer wannabe.
I used to work on older ones, (maybe oldest) cdj-203. Built quality was great, nice big buttons. In the end it was a good player compared to numark models or to pioneer cdj-100.

I hate to say it, but I've never found myself wanting a piece of what should by all accounts be a subpar piece of gear so much before.

They are quite new and not available at the moment. The predecessor was a nice tool (Gemini CDJ 600). I'm definitely looking forward to buying a CDJ-700 to give it a try
