You can make songs and remixes with just the maschine but you might want to look into getting more powerful software for example Ableton, logic, fl studio, cubase and then run the maschine as a vst inside of your software

I buy the Mikro and I'm a bit deceived about theses macros which can only accept 1 parameter / macro... So if you only wanna Drum choose the Mikro. If you want to have realtime parameters on the sound choose the full version.

Definitely go for the full size.

+1 on the maschine. Would rather buy a midifighter if i were to get the mikro, and them set it up in ableton. Only problem with maschine is the god awful auto write function (cant figure out when the knob is positioned at zero, makes weird envelopes) and the weak integration with traktor (especially if youre on windows). The vat in ableton is pretty weak as well, but at least you get massive for free now.

Other than that, great controller to toy around with. Software is still so-so if you ask me (only supports wave files, wtf NI?)

Full size so that you can pretty much control most parameters in the software straight off the controller, less mouse clicking.

I've had the full sized one for a couple of months and it very use full for the maschine software as well as a controller for traktor. Tons of quality knobs and the displays on it are boss!

I opted for the full size version - for the displays and the ability to work "independently" from the laptop. My plan is to use it at home "most" of the time...I'll see how that goes.

What are you going to use it for?

Get the big brother for the full blown experience, the displays make it worth it.
