| Deangelo Boender 13.02.2013 | I would recommend against trying to modify all of your doodads just yet. My rule of thumb is to start practicing, and let your workflow tell you where you need more controls. I would start by mapping the xsession as a two deck controller. you've got two volume faders, two pitch faders, full eq plus filter and gain(leaving you an extra knob on each side for cue mix or master volume or whatever you like), plus enough buttons for transport controls, maybe a couple of cue points, or loop controls. The xsession is a great controller for the price, I just wouldn't want to see you screw it up by tearing it apart and not getting it back together again, modification projects can sometimes be more trouble than you believe! |

I would use the same buttons that are already on, but change them out for arcade buttons or whatever you like. You will probably want a bigger case for it though. Take the xsession apart, and de-solder all of the components (pots, faders, buttons) but keep track of what goes where. then, remount all of the parts into the new case (one like the mididfighter classic would be the easiest to make). Solder all of the parts to the board, and use your new buttons instead of the original ones. Plug the usb and remap for the win.
