PA to djing at home Posted on: 04.06.2013 by Coral Bonta Hello, wanted to invest in PA to play at home. I have KRK Rokit 8, but not like playing with studio monitors. You hear the music very well but for djing feel like I would. What do you believe studio monitors vs PA to prick? Between 500 and 700 euros I'm available to pay. Doreen Schurle 06.06.2013	PA speakers aren't designed for home use. They're designed for volume, not quality; you'll get much, MUCH better results from a decent pair of Hi-Fi floorstanders and an amplifier.
Rochel Gleese 05.06.2013	I disagree I just got the QSC K8s at home and friggin love them, they're fine for playing at low volumes and the look great for a home setup.
Dannie Dimora 05.06.2013	The "thebox cl108/115" and the dave 12g3 will put out the most SPL, and while i've never personally heard "the box" systems made by thomann, i'm quite positive on the LD sounding clearer and better than the 108/115 system there.
Valene Guasp 05.06.2013	Most PA speakers only sound good when played at loud volumes as thats how there designed to be used, at home this isn't practical due to family, neighbours etc. How about adding a Graphic EQ or similar between your mixer and monitors, just remember to cut not boost eqs Something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALESIS-MEQ...item1c336997c7 then you could tailor the sound to your liking, within reason of course
Coral Bonta 04.06.2013	Maybe a PA is much to take home, but I feel the sound in a more professional djing. To mix with the krk 8 did not really enjoy. I utilixo Xone db2 is digital now and the sound is sharp and the monitors even worse, to sound more compressed. I also did not want to buy anything but I'm not very happy with the krk8 for djing.
Brunilda Kora 04.06.2013	No. ALL of that is overkill for the bedroom. Your neighbours and housemates/familiy will hate you.
Layne Koop 04.06.2013	Add a powered 8 to 10" sub to the monitors. Be done. Anything more and you will spend 10x that amount on acoustical treatment for the room. For bedroom use, really any reasonable 2.1 computer speakers are fine.
