Where to buy older "classics"... electronically? Posted on: 27.04.2012 by Eleanor Munday Hi All,I'm looking for places online that sell electronic versions of older tunes/classics. I'm on about stuff from the 90's -
I have a lot of the stuff on vinyl but the quality of ripping it is not great. Ideally, I'm looking for 320kbs + Its possible to find some stuff on Beatport but thats the more commercial stuff, the rarer tunes are not there. Anyone looked into this type of music before, any ideas on where to find it, if it actually exists? | |

So I've added all the missing ID3 tags and organized everything (It was very tiresome by the way!) and uploaded it to my dropbox account. I'm willing to share it with like minded souls as I know at the end of the day nothing can beat a classic If you want a dropbox invite on your email, then email me on my Id : [email protected] and I'll send you an invite Cheers, Atman |

Norris Swartzfager 24.03.2013 | just copied this awesome list in a txt file for futher reference! so many tracks I forgot about cheers Geert |
Rolanda Clodfelder 23.03.2013 | The likes of State of Trance Classics CD's have alot of the tracks you want, on picking a few randomly found them on itunes no probs Itunes match is Decent, the issue is that: a) some unusual stuff is not available b) Ripping tracks from vinyl is so freaking time consuming in the first place and I don't have that much disposable time on my hands ! |

Freida Leash 03.05.2012 | I dig thru iTunes when looking for old tunes, but the catch is that the mix on a compilation will often be a "radio" edit or some other weird version of the song. http://www.trackitdown.net/ has done me right on a couple songs that I thought were only bootlegged white label vinyl. |

Mitzie Baarda 02.05.2012 | Just been transported back in time whilst reading your song list. Basically a track list of my youth clubbing. I have a vast cd collection from 90s mainly trance, techno and some house. Including lots in your digital wish list. Thanks for the trip back. |

Rolanda Clodfelder 28.04.2012 | A State of Trance Classics Albums would be a good place to start - I know not everything is technically trance, but there was a smaller range of genres to classify by back then hehehe. Sure lots of tripe BUT a lot of the big ones in there as well that you'll want from earlier era's e.g. Josh Wink, Visons of Shiva, Age of Love, Chicane, jam and Spoon, LSD etc..... plenty of the old "Hooj Choons", sasha/digweed classics in there as well. Pretty sure you can find the albums for very lil $ Pains me no end that much of my old collection will always most likely be unavailable to me unless I move back home (which I'm unlikely to do anytime soon) ... most is in storage and most of the ""proper classics" are with some good friends. No way in hell I would afford to have it shipped to me even if I wanted to. Paper Recordings were supposed to release their entire Back catalog recently as digital, hasn't transpired yet though Anyone seen a digital copy of Remake - Bladerunner/Magic Fly |

Lauretta Ehrhorn 28.04.2012 | Just sold Mahadeva to some Greek bloke. Shame as I would have ripped it for you. I would definitely consider converting what you have yourself using a good quality cart. |
Birgit Gondal 28.04.2012 | I dont get this itunes match feature, the website makes it seem like you never actually get the aac but you stream it in high quality, but thisisian makes it sound like they replace it for you? i have a huge collection of my dad's rock and folk vinyl from the 60's and 70's that i've been ripping recently and even with his hi-fi table it wasn't the best quality, this sounds like it could be worthwhile! |

Joie Cantillon 28.04.2012 | +1 on how difficult it is going to be to complete that list, too much great EDM from the early 90s till about 97 or so is unbelievably difficult to find in High quality mp3 format...really should try to rip it yourself, it's fucking dodgy with a DJ table and standard DJing needles, but doable. You really want to have a hard time try finding early Breakbeat mp3s...that'll make you fucking insane |
Dorie Scelzo 27.04.2012 | This is going to sound really dumb, and I accept that……but have you considered just spinning vinyl? If it's effects you're after, you can run your decks through Ableton to get them…plus it'd do sampling and looping if you set it up right. And there are things like the PVDJ Grabber (if you can find one), the Octatrack, and other hardware samplers that give you straightforward looping……or the looper on the DB4. I mean…that list would be freaking expensive, but still…the possibility is there. |
