[OT] I directed a music video

Directed, filmed and edited this music video for Ella Jones. Kind of on a jazzy / adele tip.

There's going to be a drum and mix released too. Will post that once it's mastered.

Shot it on my Canon 60D with some prime lenses for that shallow depth of field action.

Wha ya believe?

So did you storyboard it and everything with the artist or just wing it?

Daft question really.. lol
Cheers, yeah I didn't storyboard this one but I had a clear idea of the different set ups I wanted to shoot.

I wanted it to be basically storyless, other than it's just a simple day in the life, with enigmatic shots.

The main thing I wanted to try out was shooting at 50fps, having her singing to a 2x speed playback of the song and then slowing that down so she is singing in slow motion...

The quality is down to the lenses really. That's the beauty of shooting on a DSLR is you can attach proper prime lenses.

I hired them for the day but to buy the lenses would probably be around

I dig the song. It's crazy how much that dof would have cost you five years ago.
