Anyway I'm glad OP is ok and it didn't end much worse.
YYYYUP. The idea of having to defend myself with a firearm is terrifying, but not half as much as not being able to legally do so. My state doesn't have a castle doctine as such but I have yet to hear about a legitimate case of self defense being prosecuted.

In my experience, unless you had cameras, not much will happen. But I don't really believe the police try hard unless they are forced by political or media.
shit mate, i feel for ya! i believe youre right tho, they clearly knew the building layout and obviously knew we had cameras, maybe not 45 of them but still.

Actually this has been in the news recently. An old guy in manchester caught someone breaking in to his house and in the scuffle that ensued the burglar got studded and died. The old guy went to court on a murder/manslaughter charge but the judge rule he'd used "appropriate force" to defend his property and he was cleared. I believe the law has changed as a result. Something similar happened in the 90's where a farmer shot a 16yr old boy who had broken in to his cottage. The farmer got sent down for a long time though for murder.

anyway @brian glad you ok man. Wouldn't have though things like that happen in Northampton!!!

I can't even begin to count the number of times I've had a gun pulled on me. My own dad has shoved a 9mm in my face.

Also, congrats on not getting killed by some rookies.

@ photojojo, im deputy manager at a evening club and bar during the week.

hopefully they do get caught, nothing but opportunists, but if anyone works with cash they should be aware. We have a good idea who they were and have said to the police but got to see whether or not they act.
