macbook pro wont charge Posted on: 02.01.2012 by Mathilda Mecias Bought my macbook pro in September of 2010 and just a few days before Christmas it stopped charging. So I bought a new charger and it still wont charge. It died so the battery indicator is blinking. I tried doing the smc reset thing (shift+control and option+power) but nothing happened. Any help before I give in to a trip to apple? | |

Cami Loretdemola 04.01.2012 | Can you power it from the mains, as in, will it turn on if it is plugged in? |
Julianna Riecken 04.01.2012 | Even with AppleCare your battery is only covered for the 1st year, if you have AppleCare and the MacBook is over a year old you will have to pay for a new battery You can try an SMC reset and PRAM reset (google them for your model) |

Only sign of wear is a very floppy left mouse key and discolouration of the mousepad. Wintel gear is shit innit Reet - back on topic, Sounds like a duff battery or duff charger port. |
Terese Bachorski 03.01.2012 | any battery will fail, only a matter of time. Not specific to apple products. |
Nella Libin 03.01.2012 | B- b- but Macs are infallible.... Arnt they. |
Marguerite Salsedo 03.01.2012 | Try taking your battery out and getting the computer to turn on without it. There's a good chance your battery has gone bad and you'll have to get a new one. If you have the extended warrantee you'll get it replaced no problem, pretty easy to get replaced. I need to get my laptop's battery replaced actually, thanks for the reminder lol. |
