This isn't about pirating stuff it's about not destroying the internet, innovation, privacy, and opening up the floodgates for the RIAA and MPAA to copyright troll even more. New legislation will pretty much require ISPs to keep records of every user's internet activity that can be handed over at any time. These bills are unconstitutional and have implications for the entire world and freedom of information exchange.

Seems like when everybody was distracted by SOPA/PIPA, a bunch of countries decided to sign ACTA.

SOPA covered more than just stealing/pirating stuff.

Say you throw some Michael Jackson in your mix and then throw that up on soundcloud or whatever. The record company can claim you're hurting sales and you go to jail for five years. One year longer than the doctor that killed him.

Read the proposal, it's crazy shit. Artistic licensing is thrown out the window and all power lays in the hands of corporations.

I'm always confused by republicans that argue for smaller government but then introduce bills that are the exact opposite of that.

On the basis that ths will slowly effect everyone on varying levels, i have deleted my youtube mixes.

Out of the 8 vids i had, 2 had terrirtory restrictions and 2 were flagged for matching 3rd party content.
So they were blatantly going to be get killed at some point. And if anyone removes my content. It's me.
