Charline Dye 31.01.2012 | You could, some one might want to do the same thing, but there are already tutorials out there on DIY air cannons they can google. |
Roseline Canright 31.01.2012 | lol damn, yea this one is just for club use. I'm gonna have 2 girls dancing during my set and use it to blast off during my intro. The confetti needs to launch over about 20-30 feet and rain down. @vangogo you believe i should do a write up fro other djtt members? believe they will be interested? |
Charline Dye 31.01.2012 | The CO2 launchers I've built will send a nerf rocket 100-150 yards. Sounds like yours is perfect for your needs. |
Roseline Canright 31.01.2012 | Oh and no co2, just air, either a compressing or bike pump! |
Roseline Canright 31.01.2012 | Dude i just put 20psi in the barrel and it will launcher a marker about 30-40 feet! lol so i'm believeing about 10-15psi for a lot of confetti. |
Charline Dye 31.01.2012 | Looks sweet! How's it shoot? |
Roseline Canright 31.01.2012 | So here it is!! First coat of flat black on it. I'm going to get my friend to paint "bass cannon" in a cool design on it in white. Took around 20-30 minutes to build and cost around $25 usd to build. let me know if y'all like it! |
Charline Dye 27.01.2012 | I've seen that design, and since there is a lot less pressure they are fairly safe to use. |
Roseline Canright 27.01.2012 | thats a cool career you have. I designed one last evening using pvc pipe to launch confetti without using any co2. its gonna use the same style as a pump to build pressure and push out. i'm gonna test it and see what results i have so i dont have to worry about c02 depleting |
Charline Dye 26.01.2012 | Been at it a little while and have made a few air cannons for paintball rocket launchers to enhance games at my field. Now we use a manufactured one. No sweat OP just don't want anyone getting hurt. Also never aim it at anyone, period. |

Roseline Canright 26.01.2012 | awesome, some good points i will adapt to it. thanks for your help man. |
Charline Dye 26.01.2012 | What you really need is a 2 valve system. Your tank with on off should feed an air chamber that has a second valve at the end for releasing the air, then the barrel (which can be pvc since it will not be holding pressure). The way it would be operated is you would turn the valve from the CO2 tank on to fill the chamber (all metal and ratings that exceed the pressure used), then close that valve once the chamber is charged, then when ready to fire you release a valve at the end of the chamber that releases the air in said chamber which pushes out the confetti in the barrel. All these components (except barrel) should have a pressure rating of at least 3000psi. You will not need a guage, but since you are using CO2 (which will increase in pressure the warmer it gets) the air chamber should have a saftey relief valve (pop-off or burst disk) that will release the pressure in the chamber should it exceed the pressure rating of the parts you are using. If you go without the air chamber concept and just go direct from the tank it will still work, but you will end up using a lot more of the CO2. You will also want the tank standing up (valve at top) if you do it that way or you will shoot liquid CO2 and again deplete your supply more quickly. One other thought, if you are using the braided hose you may not get enough volume of air to fire the confetti. An on/off valve at the end of the tank directly into the barrel would be better. |

Roseline Canright 27.01.2012 | Thanks for the heads up. Can you go over my list vangogo? im gonna base this off a paintball gun. Set up will be 32 ounce paintball co2 take connected with paintball mesh hose to a quick turn on/off valve with pressure gauge. and then use all metal for the connectors and cannon. Let me know what you believe please |
Charline Dye 27.01.2012 | Be very careful! You will probably be using a pressurized gas which can harm or kill you and those around you if you make it poorly, or out of the wrong materials. As a paintball air smith for the last 12 years I have seen many dodgy air cannons made that I wouldn't get within 100 yards of. |
Roseline Canright 27.01.2012 | I'll put "BASS CANNON" by citizen insane on it for you lol |
Marguerite Salsedo 26.01.2012 | Make it a bass powered confetti cannon (if that's even possible), just for the luls. |
