Your Favorite Talented Young DJ/Musician?

Your Favorite Talented Young DJ/Musician?

So let's not debate who is the best young producer/dj but who's your favorite? And by young I'm talking about 21 or so and under.

Here's my List:

Romain G: dj, only 19 from switzerland and can lay out some crazy progressive/electro house sets; check out his soundcloud

Alesso: Up until toevening I was always under the assumption he was like 24 maybe 26 but he's actually just 20 years old. To put this in a proper scale: He can't even drink at the clubs he dj's at in the states and he's pumped out several... might I say anthems? Calling, Pressure, Good Love? You hear any progressive mix and one or more of those songs will come on.

Avicii: I suppose but I feel like the media has kinda gotten over him by now and his tracks just havn't seemed that "fresh" anymore. Idk what my opinion is on him

Carbon Airways: Brother is like 14 and the sister is maybe 18? Really not a fan of that music but they still have a pretty big following. I'm sure I'd be freaking out about them more if I liked their music more.

Madeon: Not too much to say here, we all know what's up. One comment though is the maturity he has for being 17 years old. I follow him on twitter and i've just picked this kinda vibe up.

Porter Robinson: Again, I believe we all know about him. I like that he has tracks in all different genres but I've noticed that he doesn't really have a sound yet. Maybe I havn't picked up on his sound yet but hopefully 2012 will be a big year for him. I also love the bit of childishness, not in a bad way at all. He reminds me a lot of my one friend and just seems like a fun dude to hangout with.

Michael Brun: Okay I admit I hopped on the bandwagon once 'Rise' came out but he's got amazing talent, especially the mix he released on soundcloud. Can't wait to hear upcoming material

Special Features: Not sure how old he is but I love his sound and his remixes. He looks younger 20s but I couldn't find anything on the interweb.

That took longer that I thought, any to add on or comments about the above artists? As you can see I don't really follow the other genres so feel free to give a little description of other youngin's you like. What is your guys' opinion over the rise of adolescents in this traditionally 'grown-up' community?

agreed, they're super sick! saw them first time doing a live set opening for SBTRKT in glasgow (who is also really sick, especially doing his live thing with sampha)

i believe i'd have to say my favourite is Ben UFO - his selection is just incredible and he's different every time. and none of this fancy lights show rubbish, just vinyl and banging music.

Mosca is the boy too, really varied sets - very fun to see.

Boddika, Joy O, Jackmaster, Rustie (check his essential mix from last friday here if you havent already heard it - mind-blowing) Hudson Mohawke, Eclair Fifi, Blawan - all people i've seen recently and have major big love for.

And if you get the chance to see these types, they tend to be in the smaller, duttier venues - so you can party with them after

Agreed with Xone on OP... most of those guys have been pounding out some really bland stuff lately. I've been impressed with a few tracks from Arty and the effort he puts into making bootlegs for his live sets but he's also gone pop recently. I guess Mat Zo is probably my favorite of any of the current young guys.

I'm kind of impressed by Kreed but its mostly only because he's 14. I probably wouldn't believe too much of his tracks if I didn't know his age.

I certainly respect all of these guys listed in the first post in the sense that they are very hard working and motivated and there is definitely talent there and they have accomplished way more with music than I ever will, but I can't say I really like much of their music or believe it is anything original from an objective musical stance if I ignored their age. I didn't realize alesso was that young either.

I guess I would say of those listed above madeon has the most original sound, but it's still nothing I would go out of my way to listen to.

Nicky Romero is another one but same story...

Huge Porter Robinson and Zedd fans, they kill it especially for their age. Porter was killing shows then flying back home for school the next day lol
