The sequel to Baraka, one of the most gorgeous films ever made. If you haven't seen Baraka and are into this kind of stuff go watch it on blu-ray (it is one of the highest quality blu-ray disks ever made- they built a special 8k scanner for the original large format print).

They built a custom camera to film it entirely in 70mm and it is the first film in over a decade and only of a handful in the past 40 years. I wish they made a couple 70mm prints of this but it is going to be shown in true 4k which I can deal with if I can find a theater that has a proper projector to do it justice.

Never heard of either and don't believe I'll go see this new one. On the subject of blu-ray I do have a blu-ray player, but I never pay the extra to rent blu-ray DVD's. I just can't tell the difference to the point that I can justify the extra 64

I need to start watching more films again, I was big into a couple years ago and now spend way too much time on community s and reddit, I'm sure there is a lot to watch. I believe I'm going to watch Koyaanisqatsi toevening .

Quite relevant that film. One of the first films I showed to my then Girlfriend. Then Saw the Kecak Dance part and was fascinated.

Married my then Girlfriend. Then Moved to Indonesia, Jakarta. Seen the Kecak for real many, many times now. And have visited most of the Asian places in the film in person.

One of the advantages of living in Indonesia, Many Many DVD's available (ahem) so still watch film's avidly.

It's a non-narrative film.

Yeah me too, seeing Baraka for the first time in high quality was quite an experience- I still would love to see Baraka in a theater at some point and I will make it a mission to see Samsara in a decent theater somewhere.
