Is it wrong? Posted on: 05.08.2012 by Reginia Tamayose .....to pick a DJ name that someone out there already has but isnt like a big deal? I am trying to pick a good name, so when i believe of something good, i usually google the shit out of it first to see if there is someone more important than myself is using it already. | |

Brinda Tidrick 17.08.2012 | Wouldn't be major issue. There are only so many words (granted, billions upon billions of combinations) - there are bound to be a few clashes down the line. Search for 'Indigo' in the realms of music. Loads of them. |
Makkins Clifton 14.08.2012 | What everyone else said plus the great thing is you can create as many names for yourself whenever you want. I ran into trouble going by the name of Kid Alex in 2000. Two other guys going by the same name became really famous two years later (one of them is Boys Noize today). Although I wouldn't have had trouble going with that name 6 years later I booked one of the Boys Noize Records artists. If I had still used that name there would've probably been great trouble at or before that party. So when one of the other guys becomes well known you should look for something else. |
Janyce Henningson 12.08.2012 | DJ Eclipse sounds like some oldskool hardcore DJ (I know there was a evening
called eclipse as well) Dj Ringo just sounds wrong. If you drop the DJ bit, I believe both work well, although I prefer Ringo. |

Reginia Tamayose 10.08.2012 | I appreciate all the responses, thanks guys. I was believeing of maybe just using the nickname i have had pretty much forever, DJ Ringo....for some reason though, when i imagine it on a poster or flyer, it just looks weird to me. The name i was believeing of, which sparked this topic, was DJ Eclipse....what do you believe? |
Nereida Jasnoch 09.08.2012 | If the other DJ is far from famous, then it's no biggie. Well maybe if you believe you 'd ever play the same genre. |
Yong Aptekar 09.08.2012 | Go with Pauly C |
Janyce Henningson 09.08.2012 | As long as it's not Sasha or Paul Oakenfold or something you should be ok.. |
Germaine Bernadin 09.08.2012 | Use whatever you forking like............ |
Nedra Fresneda 09.08.2012 | I DJ and produce under the name of Paddy, you can imagine the amount of people using it (but I have the Beatport name ). Only reason I kept it is because it's the name i've been called by my mates since school days and it rings right to me. |
Celine Surico 08.08.2012 | * Internet search mis-directions * All kind of false understandings based on what DJ sets and mixes each DJ plays * Lack of creativity, just use your real name. |
Joselyn Supina 08.08.2012 | DJ Tanner...open all sets with the Full House theme song = name and a gimmick. |
Latoria Kavulich 08.08.2012 | Dj Bassline: 14,200,000 results |
Ardell Lafranchi 08.08.2012 | Personally i could not stand knowing someone had my name u want your name/brand/logo to be unique not something someone would google and find a different guy! IMO yes its a big deal. No one is going to find another Dwonka27 newhere But if i had the name DJ Bassline im sure 15 other djs would pop up in google search at minimum. Be creative and take time and your dj name will come i promise you. 27wonka |
Matt Kane 05.08.2012 | i wouldn |
