The navigation works pretty well here in the UK.

I feel for you guys where it isn't, cos that's basically the only positive thing to come from the change. The satellite images are crap and the businesses and POIs are non-existent.

The Siri improvements are welcome though.

Also pretty sad that a whole lot of iOS 6 features aren't supported on the iPhone 4

You guys have to realize that iphone 5 may not be "innovative", but spec wise, its processor clocks in a good ways ahead of the s3, and by some tests is the fastest on the market right now. Not exactly "behind the curve", just not exactly in front of it imo. Although if you look at all the stuff they did for making it so thin and powerful (and not consume more power, although on 4g), its a bit of a work of art.

I use Navigon for GPS based stuff.

Maps are completely fucked in the Philippines, the In-laws houses and roads and even addresses have all disappeared.

I just get an upgrade when my contract expires. The 4S is my first iPhone and I've had it for a year now, and the 5 isn't enough of an upgrade to warrant paying a grand!

I use copilot for GPS and like you that was one of my big reasons for getting an iPhone. The handy thing about the navigation in ios6 is that it works with Siri, so I can use it with the hands free in my car. Just say take me home and it does. I'll still use copilot when I go on longer journeys because it's a much better App.

I bought the TomTom app anyhow. Works more than fine for a turn by turn GPS. It's actually why I honestly invested in the iPhone 4 to begin with. I was on the fence about getting a smart phone, and my GPS was stolen out of my car. So I killed two birds with one stone. Got a new phone (which was needed... really needed) and got a new GPS out of the deal.

... the tunnels in Boston are still > me though. I hate that the GPS fails underground lol.

I updated to iOS 6 yesterday. Nothing really fancy to see differently, though for some reason I seem to be getting better 3G internet coverage in my area (just a stronger signal). Other than that? Nothing special.

I like the iPhone because I do my music sorting with iTunes... and it just works flawlessly when I want to upload a playlist for an upcoming gig, just to become more familiar with those specific tunes. Or throw on a mix or few for traveling places to listen to. I also stream soundcloud like a villain on the thing. (Some of those I imagine you can do with other phones).

Next upgrade eventually? Probably the new iPhone. But hey, having the 4 isn't hurting me at the moment. I'm always super surprised when people MUST GET THE NEWEST THING NAOW. Really? Wait for the price to drop, or when you honestly need an upgrade because your current phone isn't working well.
