Len Lukawski 08.11.2012 | What he said. To put it into perspective... At my last company my healthcare cost was about $800/month. After paying that I still have to pay between $20-$40 for a doctors appointment, prescriptions cost anywhere from $10-$50 a month, going to urgent care starts at $50 just to walk in the door and ER is the same but starts at $100. Depending on when and where you need healthcare you may end up having to use a "non-network" doctor which means that after all of the above, the insurance company may still only cover half of your medical treatment leaving with hundreds, thousands or tend of thousands of dollars of bills. My son and I had a small fall down a few steps a couple of years back and had to get checked out at the ER near my mother in laws. I got an x-ray, a single painkiller and a bandage. My son got an x-ray and a some scrapes cleaned up. We were there an hour. after insurance it cost me $500. I was laid off last month. In the US your employer has to offer you the opportunity to continue on your heath insurance plan for up to 18 months after you leave. My monthly cost has gone from $800 to $1200 for exact same coverage. Well, the same, except that its just for my wife and son. I am not covered. That would push it to $1800/month for all three of us. Just some real numbers that real people are dealing with. So yeah, I am ok with Obama Care. |

Latoria Kavulich 08.11.2012 | Congrats on the massive carbon taxes announced 1 day after the election. Enjoy |

Dick Korus 07.11.2012 | I have no faith based on the outcome of this election. None whatsoever. |
Vivienne Cowins 07.11.2012 | Rascism lost and Goldmann Sachs won... Same as it ever was (except for the "rascism lost" part) |
Nannette Doniger 07.11.2012 | Yeah glad he's back in but he really needs to step up and start to commit to some of the things he stood for in the first place imo |
Lin Danek 07.11.2012 | And from South Africa - maybe he can now lead, rather than clean up everybody else's mess. |
