Dude first i have to say
Wish i met you at any of Tunnel, twilo, spirit, avalon, and even EXIT when it was originally EXIT lol. These were my hangouts and i played there many times ( avalon, spirit and exit)

anyway about the "not dancing comment"
well yes.... i do notice the same thing however i also notice
the people who are REALLY REALLY dancin hard, are the ones on open circles or farther away from the stage.
Recently i went to Sullivan Room, and its the same thing
you have a majority of people not dancing
A) because they were watching the people who ARE doing battles
B) Because its too crowded where they are standing
C) As soon as the area opens up or they see an open spot, they move in and start to... move on lol

Dancing hasnt stopped.
Its really just the generation of people we are commonly watching who have changed the way they dance.

I know i have anyway

Exactly. NO DANCING!!!!! Just staring at the stage like rock-sheep. It's not for me but I try not to judge. I do also remember dancing my ass of at 'The Tunnel', 'Twilos', & 'Rhythm Factory' in New York in the mid 90s (I'm old). So there has always been awesome dance scenes stateside, this is just a weird commercialised pop-perversion. It's simply that for me personally, the greatest thing about dance music when it emerged at the end of the 80s, and distilled here in Europe in the very early 90s (like I say I'm old), is that it was the polar opposite of all that had come before. No adulation of some distant rock star up on a stage, you were focused on the smiles of those immediately next to you on the dance floor, feeding off of each other's energy, and dancing till dawn. Every evening unique, as the DJ was in symbiosis with the crown creating a unique soundtrack each and every evening , not playing identical sets evening after evening as the whole set is timed to cue on over the top Bon Jovi-esque light shows and fireworks. To put it in East London cockney rhyming slang... It's all gone a bit Pete Tong (trans: It's all gone a bit wrong)

All the worst excesses of stadium rock wanking and posing sucking up adulation from lost teens that need some 'rockstar' figure to love and be groupies to is EVERYTHING that dance music was NOT, and in many quarters in Europe and the world is still NOT. That is not to say some of the greatest 'true' DJs of all time aren't from the US, cause they are! But this current Guetta/Aoki/etc led EDM scene seems to have very little to do with the dancefloor, and is all about huge egos, feeding off of teenagers misplaced affections.

Spoke to him a few days ago. Doing just fine.
The neck-brace was just for hospital precaution while they checked him out (policy)

he just got too excited in the moment of the gig like we all do.
And instead of believeing to make sure to hit the tramp straight down, he hit it at an angle and physics took over lol.

To me this is no different them someone doing a "FAIL" at a new dance move in public. Live and learn

Love him or hate him, you have to at least acknowledge he's a great entertainer. That being said, I wouldn't even go to one of his shows for free.

He's just a raging nut...

I actually said to a friend 2 weeks ago when I saw him live in Sydney its only a matter of time before this idiot hurts himself. None the less he was the best entertainer ive ever seen.

I'm glad he's not seriously hurt or anything but I would probably have no sympathy if he was after doing something so idiotic.
