Seth Troxler fires shots @ Avicii
Seth Troxler fires shots @ Avicii Posted on: 22.07.2013 by Hellen Mindrup Lol not bad, Seth really is one of the best DJs in the world. Thoughts? | |

Even Sasha went there, and while I thought the comment was funny, I also found it uncharacteristic of the way he typically handles things and ultimately in poor taste. In his subsequent interviews, he was a little more reserved and less inflammatory but the message was already out there. In case anybody doesn't know what I'm talking about. Sasha on EDM Sasha on commercialism Sasha's more subdued take on EDM |

He was getting gigs for his production before he even knew how to DJ. Just as you're asking people to leave their progressive/electro house bubble, realize that the bubble is a different world. People don't care for technical scratching and shit like that, they're there to listen to the music. I don't want you to flangebeatmashwormholephaserfilter the production to death. |
Breanna Breiling 23.07.2013 | Seth troxler is hilarious and a beast on the decks. I would love to see Avicii spin a 6 hour set with as much variety as he does. For clarification I've seen Avicii play both Lollapalooza & EDC Vegas and Seth at Wavefront, it wasn't very hard to figure out who had a much more interesting and fun set (hint, it wasn't avicii). If more people would leave their progressive/electro house bubble maybe they'd understand exactly what he was talking about in this video.. |

Don't cry about how the game used to be so much better 'back in the day'. Don't wear cowboy hats in interviews that you want to be seen as serious in whilst burping up chips and a frosty drink. |

Georgina Schatzman 23.07.2013 | He's clearly talking about this from an American perspective. House music always has been "shunned" by the American market/media until recently. And I'm guessing when he said that he's been away for the the past 6 years he's talking about when he left the US to live abroad. And I know he called out Avicii by name, but I believe he's taking aim at that whole "producer who doesn't know how to DJ" scene. The guy who show's up with a predetermined set list and doesn't know how to be fluid and flexible. And yeah, he was voted #1 DJ this year according to RA, but the unique thing about that is if you look at his discography he really didn't have any tracks worthy of mention that were chart toppers, he did through straight gigging and being an actual DJ |

He produced some extremely popular dance music that apparently lots of people enjoy. That takes skills, regardless of his DJ abilities. Seems like the hipster thing to do is pick a popular DJ and and blame him for everything you believe is "wrong" with the current state of music. They are easy targets, but this shit is getting old. |
