Denon DJ Competition (Vote for me, with a twist!)
Denon DJ Competition (Vote for me, with a twist!) Posted on: 23.08.2013 by Doreen Schurle I hate these "vote for me" threads as much as anyone else does, BUT, unfortunately sometimes you have to play the game to move ahead. I've entered the Denon DJ competition for BPM Show this year; the 16 people with the most votes (ugh, I know) go through to live heats, semi finals, final, etc. At that point, it's down to judges but before that, we have to crowdsource for YOUR help Still, I don't want to win this unfairly or immorally, so I need to ask you guys for a favour. I'd love to have your votes, BUT, I don't want you to just blindly vote without actually feeling I deserve it. Listen to this mix, and if it's worth a vote - technically, I understand prog house isn't to everyone's personal taste - then vote for me. Otherwise, feel free to give me constructive criticism or even just tell me I'm crap, after 15 years the constructive comments still help and the insults are just water off a duck's back Anyway, here's the page: http://www.visitbpm.co.uk/comp.php?e...4#main_content Cheers everyone | |

I believe it's around 4:15 that he transitions between songs and you can hear that he's not beatmatched. It's so off. He then just fades one track out and the other in. The effects are really heavy handed and standard (FLANGER! PHASER! GATER!), and I'm actually one of those people that doesn't mind DJ's throwing in a lot of effects if it sounds good. OP, nice work. |
Doreen Schurle 19.09.2013 | Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand my routine for the final |
Doreen Schurle 18.09.2013 | As promised, a few vids Here's my performance from the final, complete with the judges comments as recorded by the mrs: And here's a re-record (just done now) of my winning performance in second heat: |

Kellie Myrum 15.09.2013 | So who is up for community competition #2 |
Jonathan Chiuchiolo 15.09.2013 | You did a good job man, but it looked like you wanted to slit your wrists at the end of your set when you missed the mix, if you hadn't of done that you could of blagged your way through, and it's lame especially when there's no dance floor, but you should try to put your hands up for the drops. Also why was there no denon gear in a denon dj comp? that's kinda weird... |

Annalisa Shogren 15.09.2013 | The violent hip thrusting made me feel extremely uneasy. |
Edwardo Rothenberger 15.09.2013 | 7.29 It's awesome. Chicken dancing. |

Annalisa Shogren 15.09.2013 | The first guy with the WeGo won it? I'll be the first to admit I'm not the best DJ out there, but I was mortified at his first mix? From I Need a Dollar to Dirty Stinkin' Bass? Am I wrong? |

The last guy to play was the only one to have his actual MIXING criticised, but - like me - he didn't have anything prepared for the final and just threw something together last minute, so its understandable. They pulled me up on not really looking at the crowd and staying quite "isolated" on the stage, in my own little world kinda thing haha, which is a fair point and something I know I do anyway. |
Edwardo Rothenberger 15.09.2013 | God, 5 mins. Not long is it. I really like the military drums bit. The first guy.... well, words fail me. Second guy. Was he scratching with his head at one point? |
Doreen Schurle 15.09.2013 | Got through to the live heats thanks to you guys, and won my heat to go through to the live final Here's my performance from the final: My performance starts at 12:24 The guy filming it cut the judges comments out but the mrs recorded it too so I'll post that one up when I get back from BPM tomorrow! Thank you guys SO much for helping to give me this opportunity |
Lannie Kutay 10.09.2013 | i definitely voted, (forgot to say) But I just listened to the mix for a second time today. And its great! |
