Reply to "regular" djing with the custom VCI firmware

I just got a standard VCI the other day, and i'm using just a basic TSI that I got from here. I've watched the videos of VCI's using the custom firmware and doing cool tricks and such, but I was wondering if anyone had examples of them switching between the crazy stuff and then back to normal mixing? what do you do when the faders are all off? turn everything on soft takeover?
