Traktor Mapping Question
Traktor Mapping Question Posted on: 23.10.2010 by Karolis Petrauskas Thanks to my good friend Haze I am now a proud owner of a Kontrol-X1.I'd like to make it a standalone controller for Traktor to use when I play out in small NYC lounges with horrible DJ booths. What I would like to do is create a button bank on each side of the EQ's (1,2,3 buttons) and create a knob that works just like a DJM-800's color knob works. For example...Delay, Reverb, DJM Filter or maybe even a super knob once I get an understanding. My goal is to keep the remaining knobs as eq knobs. Any info is appreciated, thanks in advance for the help! Beatzz | |

Karolis Petrauskas 23.10.2010 | Nevermind...There seemed to be a 1 in one of my mappings. NI PLEASE MAKE THIS CRAP EASIER!!!! That tiny windows sucks donkey B@LLS! anyway, thanks for the help. I'll be back soon with some sort of mapping. |
Karolis Petrauskas 23.10.2010 | I'm having some issue here...Traktor is doing what it's supposed to in terms of switching the effects but when I press the buttons other buttons light up also. This happens on screen and on the x1. For example: When I press: ON, 1,2,3 I want each button to select an effect and turn another one off. I have it set up so the #3 knob controls each parameter correct when I hit the button I want. I am using chained mode and the functionality seems to be working but the light are acting wacky. Setup like this: m8:1 = on = effect 1 m8:2 = 1 = effect 2 m8:3 = 2 = effect 3 m8:4 = 3 = Mixer Filter #3 knob controls one effect when I press it's button Dry Wet knob = treble Knob 1 = Mid Knob 2 = Low I have it set so when I press one key it also takes the other 3 to 0 in direct mode. It works but for some reason I see the ones that are supposed to be turned off light up for about 1 second or less. Please help...I just realized I've been sitting here for 2 hours LOL. |
Karolis Petrauskas 23.10.2010 | Lets see what I can come up with and I will post when I make some progress. |

Karolis Petrauskas 23.10.2010 | Thanks Haze...I am going to sit down toevening and get busy on the mapping. Lets see what I come up with. The X1 is an awesome piece of gear! |
Julissa Serrone 23.10.2010 | what up brother.... I see your getting creative. This is easy to do, and that video by army of me is the best tutorial out there. So if I get this right you want in native mode your 1,2,3 knobs to be your EQ's. The only other knob you have left is your dry/wet. In native it could still be just/dry wet. Then in your effects banks you have delay, reverb, filter. So if you press button 1, it turns on delay and if you hold it now your dry/wet controls the delay amount. button 2 does the same for reverb? you could make it toggle also instead of hold. The only thing you have to do that's not on the video is make a modifier. if you use lets say M1. Then in native mode (your eq's, dry/wet) will all be M1=0 Then the other buttons you can assign a number effect 1 M1=1, effect 2 M1=2. Then you have to put that in the modifier column. when M1=1 that means you pressed the button then it will control the effect. When M1=0 you have not, so thats when it's dry/wet. Its been a long day. Hope this made sense. If I find sometime next week. I'll try to make effect one and send you the tsi. I just don't have a way to test it. |
Karolis Petrauskas 23.10.2010 | I'd like to do all in HID mode.. I want to use shift as little as possible. Yes the D/W knob would work great and the 1,2,3 knobs will be hi,mid, low. Thanks |
Tatum Ansaldo 23.10.2010 | Are you planning on using the D/W knobs for this, leaving 1,2 and 3 knobs as EQs? Is this in MIDI mode? |
