how to avoid conflicts w/midi-fighter & Vestax Spin Posted on: 29.10.2010 by Lucia Boemer how do I avoid conflicts w/midi mapping , I have the Vestax Spin (I'm switching between couple of different TSIs) and the Great Midi- fighter? (MF 1.1 TSI) Here is one example, a track is playing on deck A, Midi-fighter is focused on deck A, I want to give a "freeze decay" as I mix out to deck B w/one of the Midi-fighter preset buttons, when I "freeze Decay" it affects the entire output, no sound from my crossfade is heard until I release the "freeze decay" does anyone else run into this and how do you deal w/it? Thanks, | |

Lindsy Hoelz 01.11.2010 | I don't have a midifighter or vestax spin, but the problem seems to be simple enough. Are you using the button on your midifighter to turn on and off the effect, or to control the effects routing on the internal mixer? If you either set a modifier to track which deck you're on or use 'Assignment: Device Target', then you should be able to get the results you want by setting your button to 1) turn on your delay effect, 2) turn on 'freeze' for the effect, and 3) turn effect routing on for the effects unit you're using for the appropriate deck (ie: Map IN ... > Mixer > Effect Unit # On). You can map a redundancy to turn off the opposite deck's effect routing at the same time, if you change routing elsewhere and don't want any glitches or overlap. |
