DDM4000 w/ Traktor Output Question
Posted on: 06.11.2010 by Manuela Sharples
Hey,
I'm brand new to the community s and not completely sure if this question is being posted in the right area. Anyways, I've just got a ddm4000 and have mapped it as a midi controller with Traktor Pro 1.2. After I got through with all my mapping, I went out to my garage to hook up to the PA and realized I was getting no output. I am very inexperienced with using midi controllers, but isn't it possible to use the ddm4000 as a soundcard in a way? Is it possible to have the ddm controlling traktor and outputting sound at the same time?
Thanks,
-Hinman

It's all good, I would definitely invest in a soundcard.

yeah that occurred to me too. i'm looking for a more long term option though, and may end up buying a soundcard. thanks for your patience with my noob questions.

You could run a headphone to rca cord from the headphone output on your laptop to the amp possibly? I haven't tried it but I believe that may work.

so there is no way to use just the ddm4000 and a computer to output sound to an amp?

That is actually wrong, you cannot transmit sound through MIDI you have to have the soundcard outputting into a channel and then out of the channel, you cannot have it only hooked up through MIDI.

Yes it is, in the menu, go to midi settings. there should be on the right some options for channels - You have probably muted the channels outputting audio :-)
