XONE:4D & Traktor HELP!
XONE:4D & Traktor HELP! Posted on: 02.12.2010 by Shenita Tarrants I have been playing around with two cdj-400's, a djm-400, serato sl1, and my macbook pro for a while now but I want to get into something a little more digital (don't see the point much of having cdj's when i'm using serato)...so i picked up a xone:4d and traktor pro. My question is do I need anything else other than a 4d and traktor? Can I control traktor from the 4d and have the sound come out of my mixer, or do i need a separate external soundcard like an AUDIO4DJ? or do i need a traktor scratch external interface? or soemthing else? (if I don't need one of those options, would i be expecting sound out of my mixer or out of my macbooks headphone jack???) (and how the hell do i set this up in traktor!??! haha) thanks in advance | |

Ruthanne Heiman 09.12.2010 | you can control traktor pro with just the 4d or you can control traktor scratch pro with your cdjs using time code cd's. the 4d is sick cause it can do both. i am waiting for my 2nd turntable but i will be using traktor scratch plus timecode vinyl soon it should be really fun! |
Shenita Tarrants 08.12.2010 | as far as scratch goes, do i just need the software? or do i need the software/the hardware you buy with it on some sites? Do i need to keep my CDJS? or can i control everything from the 4d? |
Ruthanne Heiman 08.12.2010 | Just got a 4d my self and love it as a stand alone tpro controller. the mix architect tsi. is pretty nice i have modified it a bit tho. dont get intimidated there are alot of buttons at first |
Kecia Wnukowski 03.12.2010 | the 4D has an integrated sound card so you don't need one, it is also scratch certified so one option you may want to have a look at Traktor scratch so you'll get the best of both worlds with timecode control on your CDJs. You'll mix externally using the 4d and control Traktor with the control sections of the unit mapped to your convenience. There are numerous tsi available around, you can start by having a look at the Xone's website |
