Hotcue mapping
Hotcue mapping Posted on: 28.12.2010 by Inez Marcinik Im currently working on a mapping for my korg nanokontrol to use alongside traktor scratch for looping/effects and cue points. my problem is this; i want to be able to set and delete cue points on the fly by pressing a button to set the hotcue and trigger it, but to delete it hold a shift button and press the corresponding hot cue button (like in the dicer mapping). Im sure im probably overlooking something but i cant find anything about deleting the specific hotcues, can anyone help?thanks. edit: just to clarify, im up to the point where i can set the hotcues and iv got a shift button in place, i just need to know how to set it so i can delete them. | |

Inez Marcinik 03.01.2011 | nah, it doesnt work like that for hold, and yeah i did do m2=0 on the lower shift stuff. I believe its to do with the actual controller, nanokontrols have their own firmware and editor and im a bit lost as far as all that is concerned. i had a look at the software for it and cant see anything that i believe could help. i need to find someone else who had experience with these controllers. thanks for the help so far guys |
Hermelinda Tuccillo 02.01.2011 | To create a modifier you have to add one more option. You have m2=0 button hold set value to 1, you have to create another one that says M2=1 button hold, set value to 0, at least that's for pressing, hope it's the same for holding. Another thing you have to keep in mind is that you have to set M2=0 on every function that you use the button for without the shift, otherwise they will do it too when the shift is pressed. |
Daine Remeika 01.01.2011 | I too was confused on modifiers. If you are using M2 for the shift button, then you will set your "delete hot cue" button to M2=1 and you also have to set the "store hot cue" button to M2=0. hope this helps. |
Nakisha Startup 29.12.2010 | I'm not too keen on modifiers but I believe there might be a release modifier you have to add in as well to bring the modifier back down to 0. However, if you are just holding shift and pressing a button, you don't need a modifier ... when you map your "delete hotcue," just press and hold shift and press the right button while in learn mode. It should register both buttons and that's all you should have to do. edit: I believe I figured out your modifier bit. Although you clicked "hold," I believe there isn't really a hold feature on a button. Buttons only have "On" and "Off" so you would have to click the button again to turn it off. But like I said, do my above method ... you don't need modifiers for this. edit 2: I might be wrong about the button hypothesis because my shift button on my X1 does light up when I hold it and turns off when I let go of it .... but there isn't an input/output for that that I can find in the .tsi file ... I believe the shift button in the X1 is the only special non mappable button .... so what I still said what you should do holds. |
Inez Marcinik 28.12.2010 | Thanks, thats what i thought it was but turned out i hadnt looked at one of the options for that (doh!) unfortunately the modifier i have in place for the shift button isnt working properly, though as far as i can see it should be. Iv got it set as; M2=0 button hold set to value = 1 now that should mean that when i hold it m2=0 should go to m2=1 then when released it should go back to m2=0 right? It just stays at m2=1 and i cant work out why :/ |
Nakisha Startup 28.12.2010 | I'mma gonna look at the X1 .tsi file which has that exact feature you are looking for ... will report back shortly edit: Hey, in Controller Manager go to -> Add in -> Cue/Loop -> Delete Hotcue (listed towards the bottom of the list for me). Then click learn and then hold your shift button and press the hotcue button you wish to delete. Make sure the right hotcue button is selected by selecting the correct hotcue button its associated with under the "Button Options" section at the bottom of the window Note: You will need to make as many of these as there are possible hotcueable buttons. I hope that helps! |
