its not going to be 10meg is it? Bomes is a good program but does have issues and alot of the time it is better to do things with MIDI. Also let say some one just wants two superfaders that you can do using 4 mods and they have other stuff like faderstart is it really worth

Ok, well, but if i wanna make such things, i'll use BomeMidiTranslator and configure the Controller from the beginning. But making a 10Mb TSI can't be the solution (my opinion)

Well, but the case is, for preparation you can't get enough modifierrs. But for Live-Use, i want dedicated buttons, so i don't have to believe about which fuction this button now is.

I also use not the same TSi's for Preparation and Live. If i miss something on the Mapping-Side of Traktor, it's this(more IF's; if not =X;then):
in earlier TraktorVersions, the Modifiers were Global, this should be still an Option too.

In my personall experience the only thing that as ever crashed on me whilst djing is da router. I use the scs 1d. I love it for messing about with at home but wouldnt trust it out. I would say it would crash about once every 2 or 3 months

You must have seen 1st hand how unstable da router is
No, I didn't. DaRouter was extremely stable. The only problems we had with it came from 2 things, both of which were out of our control. First, people with some AV software would have trouble installing the virtual driver. This is because some AV packages do things like adjusting user privileges and prohibiting access to the drivers folder. Second, some people would have an underpowered USB bus. This would cause devices to drop regularly (which would of course cause them to disappear from DaRouter). Neither of these problems is the fault of DaRouter. 70 times out of 100 SCS.3 problems were either power related, or AV related. The remaining 30 times were generally users failing to read instructions on how to properly set everything up.

Best Traktor resource out there (besides DJTT Forums)... even the Midi assignment section is above par.

I know its MIDI i just meant using traktors inbuilt midi and not having to use a translator aswell. Y would it being in Hex have any bearing on me understanding it, its just a number system. it is a stable program but no program can guarentee is 100% stability. You must have seen 1st hand how unstable da router is. I know its a modified version of bomes just for the scs series. Its 50 quid and for most people its just not needed.

First of all, BMT doesn't have any issues that I know of. What exactly are you referring to? Show me someone having problems with BMT, and I'll show you someone who hasn't bothered to learn how it works.

Second, when you're using BMT, YOU'RE USING MIDI. What on earth are you talking about? It's MIDI. Is that fact that it's in hex confusing you?

There's an update coming that will cover S4, but if you're new to traktor the rest of the book is also essential reading.

(sorry about this) is the Bible just as helpful for S4 as it is for the prior versions? (i assume it is)...

8 really isnt overkill You need 3 mods to get faderstart feature to work. so they cannot be used for anything else. then I used a modifier to turn off browser mode if im in it wheni load a track then the rest are used for supernobs
Jacki Agrillo

8 are more then enough, even more if's

but really, a mapping with 8 Modifiers are overkill for traktor, you will make at least one mistake every 5 minutes. I would love if Ableton got the Mapping from Traktor, and Traktor of Ableton's.

more than 8 Modifiers... c'mon

im going to update the book each week should start at about 60 pages, however hoping to have about 120 by march. Im not sure how much the traktor bible has on midi mapping. I dont have an s4 atm so cant do the s4 version ( will hopefully have one soon). Hopefully NI add more modifiers in the new version as I have run out.

I woudl be interested in any midi mapping book. Are you just doing midi mapping with Traktor? Have you got S4 covered? It's a little different on some of the commands and I suspect the new traktor will have some small changes. he traktor Bible is 384 pages including the index and TOC. That's seems pretty big to me.

My friend purchased the second edition a awhile back, I'm too lazy to read but he found it very useful. I didn't really care for it, but it saved me from having to explain everything to him, worth the $33 :P

It's the most in depth overview of Traktor you will find any where. I HIGHLY recommend it.
