Hercules RMX Toggle Modifier
Posted on: 10.02.2011 by Carita Soucek
So I'm trying to get my Hercules RMX scratch button to become my modifier. I want to be able to toggle my modifier on and off. Is there anyway I can do that? I've been trying for quite a while but have had no luck.

copy command

Modifier1 = CH1 CC41
DIRECT

Thanks for all the responses guys, but I must be really retarded or something. I still can't get the modifier to function the way I want it to. Like I've tried every single way you guys have suggested to me. I'm just trying to get my "Scratch" button to work as a toggle on/off modifier button. Like for other features I do have the choice of changing the "Interaction Mode" to "Toggle," but when I'm trying to do it for the modifier, it doesn't allow me to select that option. I don't know if you understand what I'm trying to achieve.

i don't know exactly what you're looking for. But you can make a Button Toggle, in Traktor, or even say the RMX how the Button acts...

If second one, you need this

What your looking for is to toggle between two modifier values. So if the button your describing changes between two midi notes it can be done. But if it doesn't send two midi notes like explained above, two buttons are required to get the toggle effect.

I sound like a broken record about now, but you want to look into direct modifiers. When pushed they will enter value constantly until another modifier of the same group is pushed (M1=1 M1=2).

For example, let say your shift button send a midi note of C1 the first time you press it.
The second time you press it, its send midi note D0. So you would want M1=1 set for C1 and M1=2 for D0.

Then the functions (cues,play,loops etc.) have to be assigned to which modiers value you want them to work with.

I made a mapping that uses this type of mapping. I call them modes you can check them out here: http://www.djranking s.com/community /showthread.php?t=23676

good luck,
Digi
