Traktor s4 mapping problems with Omnitronic TMC-1
Traktor s4 mapping problems with Omnitronic TMC-1 Posted on: 15.04.2011 by Lala Vanscoyk Some days ago i bought the Omnitronic TMC-1 and was happy to unbox it and plug it in right away and see if my traktor was able to find it and play with it. it wasnt. no problem so far. i got into the midi selection and tried to find it there, nothing, then i tried to map some basic stuff to see if it worked, nothing. then i checked the basics. there wasnt even found a midi device on the top section of traktor.does it work? yes it works just perfectly fine with the virtual dj program. but since i dont like that program that is not an option for me. now im starting to wonder if it even works with traktor at all. does anyone know abit more about the controller or maybe knows where the problem might be? because a almost 200 euro controller should be able to work with traktor. best regards Jan | |

I just had a quick google and I didn't find a .tsi Traktor mapping file for that controller, but there might be one out there if you look hard enough. The manufacturer doesn't have one on their website (http://cms.omnitronic.de/index.php?o...gtree=A1000902). What you're going to have to do is map it yourself. There are many good guides on how to do this both on this community and elsewhere, I recommend tom bruton's free online book 'midi mapping for bums' and the Traktor Bible. |

Tatum Ansaldo 28.04.2011 | The X1 is brilliant, but for my style I certainly prefer having some sort of separate fader style mixer and EQ section such as my VCI or external mixer. |
Lala Vanscoyk 28.04.2011 | hey! thanks for the replies. @djas: i checked the net and your statement might be true since the mc crypt 5 which has the same layout and most prolly the same hardware as the tmc-1 is a HID device. i checked with several working midi devices and they worked in other programs that use midi and were found by LoopBe1. the onmitronic wasnt found by any software except virtual dj. @fullenglishprint: Ye i also came across several sites that called this a midi device, so i called the tech center to see what was going on and they were pretty vague about if you could use it with other programs. they just said that the traktor issue is well known to them and that it works for some and for some it doesnt. (greatest tech answer in a long time) they couldnt say more and couldnt redirect me to any site or anything that might have helped me in making it work. i have searched the net for a .tsi file or anything that lets it work with other softwares and came up empty handed. so i gave back the controller and now i'm in search of one that actually works with the most common softwares. the kontrol x1 looks really great but i'd really like to have one with faders. any ideas? some of the hercules' also look pretty ok. im just abit conscious. again thanks best regards Jan |

darren Morriss 28.04.2011 | it's look like an oem of gemini ctrl one. it may a HID device not midi. In order for traktor to work they would need to write the code to make them compatible with the units. |
