Adding "pages" to my APC40 mapping? Help needed! Posted on: 15.08.2011 by Elvina Zwally This is what my current APC40 mapping looks like:Click for big. I'm trying to make another "page" that is identical to the first, only controls decks C and D, and uses two of the scene launch keys to swap between the two. Would I just export my current deck mappings to a seperate .tsi then just change the decks and reupload it to the mapping with a different name? Here is a link to it for reference: [ame="http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LF2D0OLI"]MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service[/ame] | |

Elvina Zwally 18.08.2011 | The funny thing about that is that's exactly what I did to get where I am now. Perhaps I should take another look at it now that I have a better understanding of mapping in Traktor. This is turning out to be quite the project. I want to see If i can have one page for my regular setup, and a second page to hold the full 16 hotcues for decks C and D, then try to intergrate 2 midi fighter style fx controls with the other 32 buttons. Complete with matching lights. I have my work cut out for me that's for sure. |
Nedra Fresneda 18.08.2011 | try this and modify it to your liking. http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=123 |
Elvina Zwally 17.08.2011 | Thanks for the replys! Unfortunately I am not on a mac. I believe I am going to scrap the idea of having essentially 2 of the same mapping for 4 decks, and just make a seperate "page" for the hotcues of decks C and D because that's essentially my sole purpose for having them anyways. Perhaps I can set up the second page to have the 16 hotcues for decks C and D, and then a midi fighter style setup for the effects on the rest of the keys. That would allow me to mix with 2 decks, then beatmash with 2 decks, all on one device. Hmmm... possibilities! If anyone has any input on ways of doing this, or improving my .tsi please let me know! I would love to get some input! |
Nedra Fresneda 15.08.2011 | No, you need to use a modifier. APC midi notes can't be edited and it doesn't have pages hardwired to the grid (like the device control section). You can duplicate the mapping and change the deck assignement that way to save time but say page 1 will need to have all it's controls on M1=0 and page 2 M1=1. with the switch page button present on both tsi pages. |
Chasidy Heckenbach 15.08.2011 | does it send out a different set of midi messages when you change to the other page? if so then yep kind of... after you've saved and re-imported the tsi you'll need to change the midi messages and deck focus for each control. if it doesnt send out different midi messages then you'll need to set some modifier when you change *pages* and add that modifier condition into each deck oriented control. sounds like a job for that new xtreme mapping app if you're on a mac... |
