Traktor Pro 2 and Xone 1D... LED light pipes

Hi everyone

Recently ditched my Pioneer CMX-3000 dual cd player in favour of Traktor Pro and a Xone 1D. The transitions gone well and I've got the Xone 1D pretty much mapped as I want at the moment. Certainly loads better not having to burn loads of CDs every month!
Not gone near loops or samples yet but got all the main functions I want sorted out.
Got a really good feature with one button that maximises/minimises the browser panel, and sets a modifier value. If the modifier is set then the jog wheel and main rotary encoder scroll up and down the browser list. If the modifier is not set (browser panel minimised) then they perform their regular functions.

The only things I can't get quite working are the LED outputs on the Xone 1D.
I'm looking to have the LEDs light up when the button is held down. I use the 4 LED buttons as "shift" buttons to change a modifier value.

I've got the Xone 1D using the Ableton MIDI map because I want to use the top 4 controls as rotary encoders instead of left/right single notes.
And in the 1D setup mode, the third light ring is not illuminated. So according to the 1D user guide "each light ring will toggle on and off on receipt of a specific MIDI Note On message".

Is that the right setting in order to have the LEDs illuminate when the button is held down?
Is this even possible with the 1D?

I've managed to configure it in Traktor so that when you hold down the button, the LED illuminates briefly and goes off.
Controller range is min 0, max 7. MIDI range is min 0, max 127. Invert unticked, blend ticked.

Anyone know if I can get the Xone 1D LEDs working the way I want?

Cheers, B

Don't believe so, I had a similar issue and had to configure it again.

I've finally got this working after many evenings of messing about. It was nothing to do with my installation of the Xone 1D.

I can now:
  • Have the light pipes light up on button hold and turn off when released.
  • Toggle on/off, so light up when a button is pressed and stay on when released. Then turn off when the same button is pressed again.

Previously the light pipe was turning on then immediately off - rather than staying on during button hold.

The problem was I had a modifier condition on the LED OUT, using the same value that the modifier is set to by the button.
Removed the condition of M1=1 on the LED OUT and it worked perfectly.

The LED hold or toggle depends on what that button is set to do when pressed.
So if you've got the button IN set to a HOLD function, the LED will light when the button is held down.
To get the LED to toggle on/off when pressed, add 2 INs for a Modifier #X control for the same button. Have the first one use DIRECT and set MX=1 with a condition that MX=0. And the second IN to use DIRECT and set MX=0 with a condition that MX=1. So the button toggles the value of modifier X between 0 and 1. Then just add an OUT for the Modifier #X control with the same MIDI note. And it should work.

For all of this I left the LED Options as default: controller range min 0, max 7; midi range min 0, max 127; invert unticked; blend ticked.

So I have 2 of the light pipes turning on when the button's held down and the other 2 toggling on/off on presses. Which is great as I tend to use those buttons to change modifier values to act as "shift" keys for the rest of the controller buttons. So I can maximise/minimise the browser pane and allow jog wheel and rotary encoder to navigate up/down tree list, enable/disable FX mode so I can use top encoders to change FX params etc.

Very very cool!
Thanks for the help. Hope this helps someone out
