VMS4 to one output?
VMS4 to one output? Posted on: 21.10.2011 by Madeline Seneff So I got the VMS4 a few weeks ago, not the Traktor version unfortunately but still plenty of options to use for mapping. Anyone, this isn't about the mapping though, considering I'm still in the planning stage for that, its about the built in soundcard. If you aren't familiar with this model, the front side has a switch that changes form an 8 output to a 4 output, or otherway around. What everyone says is in order for Traktor to run 4 decks, I need to have the soundcard option switched to 8. It makes perfect sense, 4 decks, L and R for each, 8 outputs. My issue is how do I make it only 2 outputs (so just a L and R). I have a theory for how to do this too. VMS4 has an ASIO setting program that allows me to pick and choose which channels to send midi information through. If I set all the midilogs to send to two channels, and set traktor to input and output all 4 decks to the same channels, will that mean I can just plug in one RCA cable into the proper channel on the midi and it will be the combined output of all 4 decks? I understand my explanation is sorta difficult to understand, that is most likely because I've been awake for about 36 hours just trying to figure out how I want to map out this controller (almsot done too ). However that puts me in a position where I can not test this theory myself. I really hope it will work, because essentially what I need to have happen is somehow get all 4 decks running into one RCA cable that I can plug into the school radio station. If I use spliters (or combiners is a more accurate way to believe about them) I can combine the 4 left channels and 4 right channels manually, but that would completely ruin the sound so I'm trying to avoid that. | |
