Difficulty recalling TSI files
Posted on: 01.08.2012 by Sharonda Flewellyn
hi.

I am realtively new to Traktor.

I have been programming my K2 and have had no problems in getting deep into Traktors midi mapping functionality (coming from Ableton, it's taken a while to realise the full potential)

I am using it in conjunction with my X1- a dream team in my eyes!

Anyway my issue seems to be when I save an ammendment to the mapping I am working on, when I go to load it another time, not all of the functions I have mapped, are loaded.

So say I have mapped the monitor on, to a button on the K2, I then decide to go have a cup of tea, and watch team GB destroy everyone in the rowing, and then I come back, boot up traktor, import the TSI., and sections are missing. It appears to be a bit random, as sometimes the last thing I mapped is there, but something I mapped the day before has decided not to work.

On a seperate, but possibly related note, I don't seem to be able to load the TSI files that have been made up by other users. I will save them in the related controllers folder in traktor, but whn I go to import inside traktor, I can't find them, however if I close Traktor, and go to the file and double click it, traktor starts (but with out the user created settings)

I am using The latest version of Traktor, and did the update from last week. I am on a Windows 7 machine

Am I doing something quite obviously wrong?

I would appreciate any help, and feel free to be a simple in your description as you want to be!

Many thanks

Rich

That's right, export it just to have a backup of the file in case something goes wrong or you change your computer.

Ahhhh! thankyou! that's really simple as well

So to clarify:

I need to just re-map what is missing, then save it once. Then next time I switch Traktor on, I won't have to import it because it'll remember the last mapping I used for that controller

Thanks!

You don't need to import them each time, Traktor remembers the maps loaded. Unless you export the mapping you are just loading a previous version over and over. Coming from Ableton your problem is you are used MIDI mappings being tied to specific als files.

Just open Traktor normally (don't double click the TSI) and you will see that your mapping is just the way you left it when you closed the program.
