VCI 400 to VCI 400SE
Posted on: 03.05.2013 by Vallie Becknell
Hello everybody,

is it possible with the right mapping to make a VCI 400 to a VCI 400 SE Ean Golden Edition?
I believe the buttons stay the same but is there the same functionality with the right mapping or do they change something on the hardware?

I love the mapping but it is to expensive order a VCI 400 SE to Germany.

Thank you guys

Similar to the vci 100 se the custom firmware sends extra notes, when pressing different button combinations or the faders reach a special point (middle at the pitch fader, bottom line fader).
DJTT offered a firmware update kit for the vci 100. you had to open the controller, connect it to the kit and could update the firmware. The chip stays the same, the update changes the midi notes on that chip.

The custom firmware PHOTOJOJO mentioned is the reason why you can

So how exactly is the SE different from the normal version hardware-wise?
Do the chips inside stay the same or they are modded/replaced to accomplish the custom fw install?

If not, why isn't djtt offering firmware upgrades for a fee?

VCI-400 EGE sends multiple MIDI notes in one press of the pad but I'm not quite sure that firmware support a superfader feature same as VCI-100 SE does.

True. I'd love to see this kind of firmware in the midifighters. That would be dope for advanced mappings
