Reply to Is the S2 essentially a rookie controller?

Hello all,

So to background my question, I've been browsing the site for awhile contemplating the purchase of a S2. I've been into ableton and producing for about a year now but would like to DJ on the side for fun when I don't have the longer durations for producing (full time college).


Anyways, it seems like I'm getting this vibe that the S2 is a great product but nothing made for performing outside private establishments. Yes I realize Porter Robinson uses a S4 and others use them at clubs. So I guess what is its main purpose in the end?

And by rookie I'm simply implying that to potentially move onto to larger events you would next a different set up. No offense at all to those who own a S2.
