Puzzled about something (fx snapshots) Posted on: 09.07.2012 by Kecia Wnukowski Actually I'm puzzled about two things:First isn't new, each time I start Traktor, one fx, usually the same, starts as being selected (when Traktor was closed this specific effect wasn't selected into the corresponding unit). That existed in 2.13 for example, didn't have the behaviour in 2.5, but then that symptom reappears. Weird. Second is pissing me quite a bit but is new in 2.5: the option to 'restore parameters when switching fx' is unticked (ie I don't use that option). However for some effect that I do have a snapshot stored (with fx 'on' as one of the detail of the snapshot) here the behaviour I get: FX A is the one (in single mode) I have a snapshot for. I'm in single mode, Fx A is selected, Fx is off. I switch to group mode. I switch back to single mode. FX A is on.... If one has an idea, suggestion....? Has this been reported before? ps: that has nothing to do with selecting a fx in single mode that affects the first slot in group mode. I'm talking here about something different. | |

The result is that you can't have instant FX mapped to one button, there's always another extra click to it when you need a panel to switch FX or restore. I really hate this..
Anyway I have some strange behaviours with snapshots (and the following isn't linked to 2.5 I had the issue with 2.13 too). For some effects and for a unknown reason, with the s4, and when using the jogwheel as effect control, releasing the platter that is supposed to reset the 3slot/3rd parameter, didn't for some of those effects, ie I had to register the effect so the rest takes place. Weird.
2.1.3 on the other hand does what it supposed to do: leaves it on while switching/browsing.
I rolled down to 2.1.3, it runs so much better in many ways. To bad, love to get an F1. |
Claire Auyeung 10.07.2012 | I have this issue too. When you turn on a FX, then click it to browse for another, you'll see that Traktor turns it off while selecting. Seems like Traktor is setting itself to off, can not map this any other way. Snapshots do work for me, tried delay/ramp delay, even with Restore Parameters set to off. But there's no way to hard code the on/off state in the mapping because Traktor overrides it. Charline Dye 09.07.2012 | First problem I have never had. Since it turned up again in 2.5 maybe a faulty button on the S4 if its the same one everytime. Traktor must scan all the controls on the S4 at startup to find their positions and have them read correctly in the software. I guess that button is reading "on" at start? Just a thought. I went back to 2.1.3 as 2.5 made Traktor unusable for me. So I can't test the second problem to see if I can replicate it. Do you still get the loop recorder starting up on your first button press with a pedal attached? I'm used to it, but still a pain in the arse. |
