Sample / Remix Decks
Sample / Remix Decks Posted on: 01.04.2013 by Le Dagraca Hey folks!I really hope, this question hasn't yet been discussed before - I honestly searched for a solution. I own the Traktor Kontrol S2, and I want to use the One-Shot Samples like the following: When I trigger the sample-button once, the sample should be played till the end (not starting again like a loop!). When I trigger the button a second time while the sample is playing, it should restart the sample from the beginning. Example: How do I achieve that? It's pretty annoying, that I have to hold the button. Thank you guys - greetings from Germany, Simon | |

Gordon Tallis 14.04.2013 | There has to be a way to trigger drum samples like playing maschine. Im trying to set up single drum hits and sounds but its not triggering proply on the S2. On the software I can click on the sample and retrigger with the effect I want. But on the S2 it plays then when you hit the cue/sample button again it stops the sample and when you hit it a 3rd time it starts the sample again. The only success ive had is to set it up as 1 shot gated but I have to hold the sample to get it to play thru! There must be a mapping problem with the S2 that is set to toggle rather then trigger? |
Britt Roback 03.04.2013 | what Stewe said. Each slot can be fired off in a multiple of ways. Even one shots can be triggered by just pressing once or holding a button down and by being triggered also can either be triggered by quant or finger triggering like drum rolls and stuff. You have to manually set each slot as to how you want it to work. |

Libbie Orion 02.04.2013 | actually i just realized whats wrong you are trying to do this as its loaded into a CELL thats not the way its working in the video the one in the video is working as: the button he has been pressing is for example (cue point 1 on Deck C ) where the sample "A- TRACK!" is loaded. He has "SNAP" and "QUANT" turned off for that deck now, Just before hitting the CUE POINT 1 button, that deck has to be in PLAY mode. So each time he hits the Cue point, it jumps to that point and plays it even if he is hitting it rapidly and offbeat, its going to trigger each time he hits the button. If the deck is NOT in play mode, it wont play through to the end your problem is A) make sure your sample is set as a ONE SHOT (not a loop) B) Make sure you deck is already in play mode before you start tapping the button for the cell |
Le Dagraca 03.04.2013 | Come on guys - this has to be possible! I mean - sample decks are one of the official features of the S2! |

Le Dagraca 01.04.2013 | As I found out, this button is the punch mode switch. (Mapped it to my controler) I activated it, same behaviour Edit: Please keep in mind, that I'm trying to do this with the Traktor Kontrol S2 sample deck controls! There's no punch mode button on my controller! |
Libbie Orion 01.04.2013 | if i remember correct, according to your image above the tiny sliver of grey bar (laying down under the "T") in your track title "Respect It" should be the PUNCH setting for ON / OFF select it. when its light, its activated |

Le Dagraca 01.04.2013 | It actually works, when I trigger the sample with my mouse! So you believe, it's a mapping error by Native Instruments? |
Dedra Kreinbring 01.04.2013 | Does clicking with the mouse on the sample work? I have a feeling my S2 does the same. Could be a mapping error |
Le Dagraca 01.04.2013 | With that button activated, I cannot retrigger the sample, while it's playing. |
Dedra Kreinbring 01.04.2013 | Sorry didnt read the OP properly, it is the U shaped arrow above sync. |
Le Dagraca 01.04.2013 | The button is set to "OneShot" Anyway, I have to hold the button, to play the sample completely. |
Dedra Kreinbring 01.04.2013 | If you go on extended view of remix decks, there is an arrow pointing to the right in the bottom right hand corner. Click that and it changes to a one shot / loop |
Dedra Kreinbring 01.04.2013 | There is a setting yo can change on each slot in the sample / remix decks, as to whether it is a one shot or a loop |
