M-Audio ProFire 610
M-Audio ProFire 610 Posted on: 28.08.2008 by robert chanda Now this is more like it. Firewire external soundcard with MIDI, 6 ins (2xXLR with preamps, 2xquarter-inch balanced and 2xSPDIF that you'll never use) and 10 outs, 8 of which are even usable!http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...e610-main.html Mmmm, 8 outputs... Perfect for those who want to use an external mixer, with room to grow. | |

DJ Strutzip 19.10.2008 | audio 8 - $399 FirePro - $399 I recommend the Audio 8 I'm not sure of any advantage to the FirePro for DJs. |

The Audio 8 has 8 ins and outs where the 610 has 6 ins and 8 functional outputs, though the TRS/quarter on the front of the 610 can be ugly. How many inputs do you need though?? The 610 also requires additional software to be running which increases crash/enhanced compatability issues a degree. You are choosing from the two best interfaces in a reasonable price range! |
alice roy 18.10.2008 | The big question: M-Audio ProFire 610 or Audio 8 DJ I have a shopping day coming soon and I'd like to get your opinions... |

One thing I found really frustrating about the my current card (M-Audio Fasttrak Pro) is that M-Audio says it's supported for Windows, but it has a really rough install process and I hardly trust the damn thing. It seems like M-Audio developers are probably more Mac oriented because their products get way better ratings in the Mac world. |

Fernando Bros 02.09.2008 | is this the next step? ive been wanting to grab a firebox...its rather old. but should i just save up for this guy? 192 khz sampling is that what will be we standard soon? |
Xavier Emanuels 02.09.2008 | That's a pretty decent looking unit! Mixing internally is where its all at nowadays though, its cheaper and you can be more creative. It would made a great unit for surround sound mixing though if anyone gets into that. |
Random X 01.09.2008 | nice! |
Jemayne Dacres 01.09.2008 | If my firewire 410 ever died, that would probably be the replacement. The retail price seems to be about $400. |
gilbert hatem 30.08.2008 | drool... |
Anushka jayamaha 29.08.2008 | 192khz is a nice feature too . |
