Accelerometers

The really nice ones have 3 axis (ADXL330). So that means you need 3 analog ports to plug into.

Anyone had good experience with these types of things outside of a wiimote?

I'd like to build a wristband with an accelerometer (with it's sensor on my middle finger like a ring.) I believe it'd be wicked to control effects with the wave of a hand. But I'm curious as to how possible it'd be...

Thoughts?

With my obsession with all things wireless, I was believeing about gutting a wireless joystick for the job. (I believe most joysticks have 3-4 analog sensors, am I right?)

Seems like it'd be a simple cut and paste job.

herm...looks like arduino is probably my better option. Would be faster and easier to implement. Looks like it even has some simple plug and play options!
