vestax vcm 600
vestax vcm 600 Posted on: 10.01.2009 by Ryan Konarski hey guys i have been lost for a lil cuz i was on vacation and i was injured anyways im back and i have a lil review for you guys lol last week my friend receive the vestax vcm 600 and i was trying it out i decide to do a lil review Designed after consultation with top digital dj's ( like PVD) the the vcm600 is a controller specialized for mixing, which offers excellent performance to djs who mix with digital music media and computer based systems. This really is the digital dj's dream and will afford the digital dj some much needed physical hands-on control of their favourite software. The vcm600 shares the same quality control parts used on vestax mixers, high quality input faders and pitch faders from the vci100 and pmc580 are also applied to the vcm-600 for advanced operability as well as 2 led panels which are placed on each side of the controller to illuminate the top panel for clear operability and vision in clubs. Each unit can control 160 parameters of ableton dj software and other midi compliant software with high resolution midi signals sent via usb to the computer. Thats plenty of control and the layout of the function buttons will please most digital djs. Set-up should be a breeze to with simple plug & play activation with apple and windows operating system computers. Perfect as a live dj tool and in the studio the vcm600 is set to bring a whole new level to the world of usb controllers and will certainly be a hit with ableton users. well let me tell you i felt in love in the minute that i saw it. with 6 faders and a lot of buttons knobs you have everything to control any dj software but wait.....remeber it was made for ableton i really believe that for producing it not might be the best midi out there. BUT for Djing is awesome you can go thru the clips on ableton really easy, and can make a set really crazy. my only complaint is that you dont have more knobs for the effects but is not a big deal you can get crazy with the one that you have remember ableton have a lots of cool effects. The build quality on this baby is exeptional the faders are similar to the one that we found on the VCI 100,is sturdy metal everything is the same to other vestax midi controllers...the faders and the cross faders have curve control like on the vci 100 in this baby the faders have that feature too soo is really cool another awesome feature about the vcm 600 is the led lights that have on the size, that makes it a lot easier to see at evening in a club, dark room and even looks cool (trippy lights) lol i didnt try it in a dark club but i turn off the light of the room and visibility was really good. this piece of art weghts about 10 to 15 pounds somewhere between , is a lilttle bigger than his cousin the vestax vci 100 is perfect the only problem i was believeing is where to put it mmm thank God m audio realease a DJ bag for biggers controllers ean post a blog about a week ago. he size is good for those clubs that dont have any space left on the dj booth, just put on top of the turntable or cdj and your set this thng it would be perfect with an internal sound card but, but that can be solve really easy with a good ext soundcard one really thing that is really bad is the price, i believe is too pricey for a midi you have another good options ex KORG Zero mixers anyways i really believe is worth the money but there are another cheaper options out there...but this one is a really easy option and cool that have everything you need to DJ in LIVE if you have any question just let me know | |
