Future Tech: The UnMouse Pad for Multitouch. Posted on: 10.06.2009 by robert chanda From 46 seconds in this video (which I won't embed in HD):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ad17cJxg7C8&fmt=22 The UnMouse pad from Microsoft is set to make multitouch input devices so cheap to produce they are almost disposable. Expect Multitouch to turn up everywhere real soon. Sure it's from Microsoft so they have already patented the shit out of it, but it's got Ken Perlin behind it (he's an old school inventor and all round genius who loves sharing low tech solutions to difficult problems. Google him.). More details as they come up. | |

Herschel January 10.06.2009 | This stuff could be amazing for DIY controllers. All you would have to do is draw the buttons on your pad and glue it to the controller design... tweak some software a bit, and BAM, instant velocity sensitive buttons. And, if they can find a way to make it transparent, any monitor could become multitouch as soon as the OS's are able to support it. Good find Fatlimey |
