Another BUDGET DIY MIDI project Okay so, as I've said in my last thread post, I am poor, I never seem to have enough money to afford all the amazing gear I want. I have an old xbox console, which is faulty and doesnt work etc, I took one of the controllers and pulled it apart. I have read in community s and post's that you CAN convert an xbox controller into a MIDI signal. So here is my plan, to rewire the connector into a USB connection. House the buttons and knobs in a small box, for easier playing. Anyone have any advice? Someone who has tried a project like this before, I would love it if you could point in the right direction, So far, I have only dismantled the controller, the rest is all plans in my head. Here are some photos of my plan, and what I have so far. ANY help would be great, I'm not sure if this would be beneficial, but keep in mind I have the bare minimum with controllers, I only use an UMX49, just because its cheap really, and I would perfer a button, fader etc controller. | |
