Is the VCI really for me? (advice)
Hey,

Im kinda stuck with what route I want to take at the moment and what gear is going to fullfill my needs.

Background - 1210 vinyl (loved it!) - moved to serato scratch loved it! - Sold up and moved to digital as I needed a more portable set up (traveling abroad).

So I purchased a VCI 100 & traktor pro - Moded (arcade, sexy as hell). Now I'm obsessed with modifying gear & arcade buttons lol

What I'm still getting to grips with is beatmatching (old skool way) on the VCI 100, Although im gradually getting used to using the jogs & pitch, it still seems that the accuracy of the VCI isn't great? (compared to 1210's)

Now is that the case, are the pitch & jogs not as accurate on the VCI, or is just a case of continuing to practice and getting used to it?

Also has any one used/owned EKS XP10 PC DJ Controller? how do these compare to the vci's jogs/pitch adjustment, and can these be used to control multiple decks?

At this moment in time, what I want from a controller/controllers is:

accurate pitch/jog adjustment for manual beat matching. (im not sure the vci does this for me).

Control over traktor pro's fancy bits (vci se does this pretty good, though I am currently reading my traktor bible to learn how to map it to work best with me).

(I use an external mixer for eq's faders etc).

With all that said, I am looking to go fully digital, and beatgrid all my tracks, to get more creative with traktor! But for the time being that is a work in progress. So for now Im looking at it in a old meets new approach.

Any advise on gear that may meet my needs better then the vci does would much appreciated

Thanks in advance,

Cutta
