Reply to Looking for advice on on what parts to use

So,

I've decided to try my hand at building a set of custom controllers for Traktor Pro. I've go a machine shop lined up to make the cases, and a friend is helping me with the technical drawings.

What I don't know is what parts to buy. Each controller will consist of 16 arcade buttons, 4 faders, 8 pots, and 4 smaller mode buttons.

Ideally I would like some really smooth feeling faders and pots that can be mounted on the case itself, and would fit the knobs and fader caps that are available on the site.

P.S.: If anyone knows how/if I can split a connection going to the board so that two buttons can emit the same midi command. I'll be using the HALE UMC32 DIY USB-MIDI Controller as a basis for the controllers.
