Got this Press this press release from HP/NI this yesterday. My first instinct was to laugh at this and brush it off as a sham and marketing gimmick like the Vestax Spin, but the specs of the laptop are decent(albeit pricey). It's also one of the prettiest Windows machines that I've ever seen, which certainly counts for something with many consumers. Comes with the Dre signature headphones, Traktor LE, and a NI 2 channel soundcard. Being that this is the first laptop targeted driectly at DJ's, wannabe producers, and coke dealers that I've seen, I figured some people around these parts might have a few things to say. Again, I really want to hate this, but something tells me they're going to sell quite a few of them. Please hate, appreciate, eleborate and deliberate below.

I lol'd at coke dealers.

*edited for blah blah* this is no big surprise--a prosumer spec'd piece of kit marketed towards a specific and ballooning audience. It feels like the gaming rig marketing template of insert company name. Nice specs though and at a price point where I typically start (and work down). The only thing i'd wish is a large, erect ego pulsing to the low freq.

Edit
I do like HP though, as it's the only laptop i've ever owned...it's been to Iraq twice and has never let me down.

It looks alot like a black version of the new white unibody MacBooks. Overall, impressive specs, great design, and a price tag to match. I personally wouldn't pay $2,300 for it though. Especially when it will be obsolete soon with USB 3.0 on the horizon, which will most certainly be of use to people like us - fast transfer rates, and perhaps a new breed of controllers to take advantage of it.

Good find though, I like coming across stuff like this
