Reply to Should I sand jogwheels?

A while ago I purchased the overlay and black knobs and faders for my VCI 100 SE. So to keep the black color scheme going I spray painted the jog wheels black, then later put stickers on them. I didn't like the look of the stickers so I took them off and the paint job looked kind of sketchy. Now they just look totally bad on the eyes.

Basically I want to repaint them. But I was believeing that maybe it would be to thick so I would lose my touch sensitivity. So should I sand them down and then repaint? Would sanding them jepordize my touch sensitivity? Whats the best way to start fresh and have a nice looking set of jogs?
