Should I send my vci in for service?
Posted on: 05.03.2010 by Ying Tropiano
About a month ago everything started going wrong with my vci. First, both play button blue LEDs burnt out. Next the jog wheels started making a clicking sound and don't respond correctly. It really annoying when you just want to mix and everything just keeps going wrong. I emailed vestax and they said i would have to send it in for service. I just a little weary of sending it in because of the shipping, I don't know what else can go wrong while getting shipped there, and the other thing is I don't know how long it will take to get back to me. I'm just wondering if any else has had these problems and if anyone has sent any thing in for service and what was your experience with that.

I'd drive it there. Give them a ring to let them know you're coming though!

As long as you haven't tried any modding and its under a year old it should still be under warranty. If they cant fix it you should get a brand new 1.

Yeah the email they sent was very vague just saying to ship it to the factory. The factory is only like 30mins from me, I'm wondering maybe I should drive it there.

Hmmm... this does not seem like a firmware issue. You should need to way the relative costs. How much is shipping, is it covered under warranty, etc. In general, I lean against getting electronics fixed. But if you really love your VCI and it less than $100 to get it fixed I would.
