Reply to Simple cheap button controller (hid/numpad mod maybe)

Hi!

I'm looking for a very simple and basic controller similar to Nanopad except even more basic. I just need 8 or 10 buttons to push to trigger cue points and loops.

The easiest way would be painting a usb-numpad, but i'd like the buttons to be placed horizontally. Is there any way to use numpad chip and just solder longer wires to buttons? Has anyone opened a numpad?
