How Do I make a touch-sensitive Jog Wheel?
I've seen some designs for non-touch sensitive jog wheels, but I would like to make a touch-sensitive one. Does anyone know how to make a touch-sensitive jog wheel?

I believe it would consist of a single absolute encoder (14 bit or higher for 14-bit high resolution messages?) and an additional device that will change the output signal when the jog wheel is touched.

How do I cause the jog wheel to recognize my touch, without pressing down on the platter? What materials and devices are needed to complete this?
