V7 Clone Project
Posted on: 21.05.2010 by Matthew Urtel
My next project is going to be a V7 clone using a DJ Hero Controller. I am mainly doing this as a "F You" to Numark to prove their NS7 and V7 products are extremely over priced for what they do. This kind of stuff has been done in Robotics for ages.

I am unsure how much I will update this as I am currently finishing my VMS4 clone, and heading back to school, but I can guarantee when this is done I will make many, and run it through its paces in Itch.

Stay Tuned, then fanboys will cry.

But I am interested to see what you can be done with this POS! Keep us posted.

I played DJ Hero in the store, moved it to hard on the second song and got through with no problems so I didn't waste my money on it. Beatles Rock Band is a big hit in the Photojojo household though.

So are you just doing a custom mapping, or are you actually going to mod the hardware to make it function like the V7? I never played DJ Hero so I don't know it the platters even spin or if you would need to install a motor with a motion sensor to read your scratches.
