Arcade Button Monome
Arcade Button Monome Posted on: 23.05.2010 by Matthew Urtel Anyone else seen this madness?? This seems like a cheaper monome alternative. Would be cool if someone on DJTT did a clone of this. http://www.defcon6.com/?cat=15 | |

Adolf Hit 24.05.2010 | I doubt it would end up being any cheaper than buying the monome 64 kitset which was only 200 USD (from my hazy memory). Arcade buttons are generally more > 2USD for anything decent. So that is 128 just on buttons alone without accounting for whatever midi kit they have used which can do 64 inputs, and drive 64 LEDS. What ever option you look at there you will be paying at very least 50 USD. And then you have got to build a case which is going to cost more for this simply because it is larger than the enclosure required by the monome. Still pretty damn cool ! |
Susann Blachford 24.05.2010 | It seems rather large though, much larger than a monome. |
Leeanna Ayla 24.05.2010 | I don't believe it would be that hard to build it. I do like those illuminated buttons though. |
Buster Kiper 24.05.2010 | It looks like his enclosure was laser cut. Probably really cheap and rather fast to farm it out to someone else. |
Keli Vandenbergh 24.05.2010 | ... Mmm... the worst part is enclosure as usually... but the rest is really "easy". What kind of help do you need? ... |
Al Henger 24.05.2010 | hmm, you could probably do it for about 150, which would beat the 500 of the 64x monome. Interesting. Still costly for what it is though.... god damn buttons get so expensive so quick!!! |
