Reply to Which Backup Controller?

I am about to head overseas in 6 weeks for prob best part of a year and I have vci-300 which is ace but i cant see myself getting it fixed over in eygpt if it broke so i am looking at taking a backup controller and was looking at one x1 controller and the new fader fox.

I know how to beat grid thanks to the tuts on here but i tend to mix live and would prefer pitch bend buttons etc, so which is gonna give the best bang for buck?I have a sound card already.

Advice and opinions please......
